So, how hard could it be to build a real one ?....

...and the front suspension is what...

...and how many of those engines did they make...

If you had Aurelia spares and an idle moment the F2 car is the easiest.  Alas google hasn't delivered the picture I was after.

So, someone is building one already ? or has it been finished ?  The idea I had was to build a frame, and attach either Aurelia or Flaminia running gear. Not so much as to try and replicate or build on original lines, more so as an 'interesting' project on a reasonable budget.

Here's the 1952 Nardi-Lancia F2 car (abandoned because of a lack of power);

Looks a lot better without its body!

Reason enough to build one of these instead?

It's a pity it didn't work, surprising how innovative people were back then. One always assumed Cooper led the way with mid engines racers. Can you imagine a D50 mid engined Grand Prix car in 1952 !!
I always liked the 'brutal' look of the D20's

Could it be that some imaginative, well informed, discerning (and probably wealthy) enthusiast is trying to recreate a car featuring front suspension with a geared drive to inboard front brakes? Perhaps like in this photo of a D24 taken many years ago!

Full of admiration,

Colin
