Not by me - but for sale on a forum that I also frequent:

http://www.alfa155.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=31888&view=next

Looks nice - and knowing what the guy has done with his Alfa's, I would guess well looked after

Thanks Duncan!
Here's the full advert so members don't have to look at the other site....

It's been a fun year owning the Beta, but due to having way too many cars at present sadly some have to go!

Lancia beta Coupe, 1979 1.6 Twin Cam, manual, 78,500 miles

Excellent under the bonnet, very original, factory seam sealer and paint etc.
The bodywork is on the whole good, but it has some typical crusty bits around the edges.
The MOT has just expired and the tax is valid until the end of September '10.
For the MOT it will need two areas welded at the front floor to sill joining area.
All other areas seem good, rear strut towers are solid, all other floor areas are good.
Small areas have been welded previously, one patch on the N/S strut tower plus some work to the rear edges of the foorpans near the sills. These areas seem to be of no further concern.
The interior is in excellent condition, all original and dry.
All gauges and electrics are in good working order.
Tyres are recent and in good condition.

During our ownership it has had:
New headgasket, with head pressure tested, by Italian Specialist CM Garage Services. (Over 2000 trouble free miles since this work).
New timing belt
New exhaust centre section replaced in stainless steel.
New coil, plugs, ignition leads, oil & filters
New Poly bushes up front
Tracking re-aligned on a four wheel laser aligner
New front brake pads
Carb' rejetted, fueling and ignition set up by Weber specialist Seditas Cars
New model specific floor mats

Cheap at just £850.
If it does not sell I will go ahead with getting the two areas welded and re-advertise at a higher price when MOT'd.

The top two ebay bidders were idiots.... One claiming that he didn't know it was RHD, the next said he'd bought another car and now had no money!

So it's back to being really cheap, only a few hours to go!

Bid up to over a grand by three people, then when the top bidder pulled out with hours to go (due to it being RHD!) the auction turned into a shambles!

Now relisted, and I'll be vetting the bids carefully this time!

It's about time Ebay got really tough on these jokers, even worse are those that commit to buy then don't, never mind it's a legal and binding deal, Ebay won't take any action against them that actually means anything, it just wouldn't pay to sue them, as if they've have no money, and are just dreamers, at the end of the day your no better off, and you've still got to sell the vehicle.
Although I've bought lots of things off of ebay over the last ten years, selling my Mercedes recently on ebay, is not an experience I want to repeat.
Something else that I came across while scanning their forum regarding non payers, is that when selling a vehicle DO NOT accept payment using PayPal, other than for a small deposit,  if the deal goes T---s Up the PayPal Guarantee is limited to a maximum of about £1500, which if you've been scammed, and lost your motor worth £5k, your going to be minus £3.5k, + no longer having the vehicle to sell.
So beware.

Hi

I can only reinforce what Brian has said, use Paypal to get the buyer to commit only. Another gotcha with Paypal and selling is that the buyer can complain to Paypal after the sale and the whole of the money is taken away from you while they 'investigate' the case and you have to jump through hoops to show that what you sold was as described etc. (I assume the complaints procedure is the same for vehicles as for other items). I know of people who have legitimately sold items, sent them out out, had complaints about them and then had the total taken by Paypal whilst they look into it and if you do not provide all the documents they ask for, you will loose your money. Not a pleasant experience for a couple of hundered pounds, seriously painful if it is in the £1000s. I am fortunate in that I deal with the professional end of the market and does not attract the scammers, but I would think vehicles are a fairly easy target.
