While looking at Lancia's for sale I came across this Fulvia 2c, that according the information listed it was  first registered 12/1965, the vendor has emailed me after I requested if the mileage is genuine, it is, and the chassis number, which is 057877.
I've always thought that my 2c was earlier than the registration indicated 1/1/1966, as she has a number of features that I've only ever seen on Robin Laceys' CTA 762C (Robin do you remember your Chassis Number?).  on the earlier "Normales" and the physical impossibilty of getting from Chivaso to England in one day Shocked
This information seems to confirm my feelings as my Chassis Number is 8181010 045617, and is 1360 chassis numbers earlier, but this is out of a total 2c build of 88,266, which is about half way through the total 2c build between 1964-1969, I know from my own experience in Motor Manufacturing, that most of the build takes place in the early years, and going by the one for sale, she was built sometime in 1965, although I understand that all the Lancia Fulvia records were lost in a flood? years ago I can't find out for certain, unless anyone knows where else I can check further? as it's frustrating suspecting, rather than knowing for sure Roll Eyes
If anyone wants a low mileage 2c Berlina, this is the one to go for as it only has 10,000 KMs on the clock which the vendor has confirmed ( Are you still looking Chris?)

Hi Brian,
Everything about this car is right for us - colour, condition etc....apart from the fact that I decided to go for a GTE. I have found a couple close to where we are in Italy although no purchase yet. Maybe the delay is because I have established I can find a good example so there is no pressure to buy. Certainly there seem to be quite a few low mileage well looked after 1 or 2 owner cars available always so I will look again properly in the Spring.

Chris,
I must agree with you with nice GT's and GTe's available, but don't leave it too long as the prices are creeping up steadily.
I know the Normale is a bit down on power to say the least, but from time to time the tuning bits come up for them, and might be worth consideration, often there are really nice low mileage ones for sale, and as I thought that the earlier they are the more eligible for events they become?

Thanks Robin,
So that would almost certainly make "Fay"  1965 built, I wouldn't be surprised though, knowing how long it takes to get cars to the point of sale from abroad in those days, whether or not your lovely CTA 762C wasn't built in 1964?

I take your point Brian. We had a lovely 2C back in the 70's and it was wonderful...until it was written off by an Alfa driver T-boning it. Jacky was driving with our 3 young children and everyone was OK but you should have seen the Alfa! I fitted XAS tyres and the roadholding was something else.
Our search for a GTE  - ideally pale grey or pale blue with a cloth interior - is because we want one as a 'daily driver' road car and lhd is not a problem for us.
I will let you know as and when we find it.
