As you may know, this year is the Gamma 35th, and one of the magazines has picked up on this, and wants to do a feature on the Gamma. We have good S1 examples, but ideally need good S2 examples, both coupe and berlina, to join them and complete a quartet.
Shoot will be on Monday 4th July, at Andy Collins' place in Wiltshire (just outside Chippenham), starting 10.30, ending mid afternoon. Some recompense for your trouble provided, details as and when you offer up your fine cars...
Contact me via the forum, on press(at)lanciamc.co.uk or on my mobile, 07899 951760. Alternatively, contact Andy Collins (betaboy 2.0 on this forum) directly.

We have now sourced a lovely S2 Coupe in Silver for the photoshoot, now just looking for a good, roadworthy, photogenic S2 Berlina....... any offers?

Are there any Ser II Berlina actually left ? I think all the known examples are Ser I Harvey, Charles, Olivier, Andy plus the chap at Brooklands.

Well, there is a 78 mile one in my garage ... but currently without gearbox. On the other hand, if some kind soul out there wants to offer trailer services for the day, then that one could go to the photoshoot..... hmmmm!
Once the Online database is fully integrated, then finding cars for Press shoots will be really easy and we won't have to put upon Diana all the time for trawlling the membership database for the info.

If the relevant journalist is willing, the story of the 78 mile car is so interesting that even if it does not make it to the shoot, a postscript to the main story, with pictures of this car in situ, would still IMHO be a really welcome addition to the article. And if it is the only sound S2 Berlina in the UK, all the more so that it should be featured.

There is a very sound low mileage (20-30k) UK registered S2 (1981) Berlina in Oireland - we saw it at a sort of Classic Car track-based festival day of speed show just last weekend though I don't know if anyone took photos.
It is very straight and although having the odd emergent scab, it is certainly photo-shoot worthy but is probably not located in the right place just now. It is gold in colour and has what is reported to be a Waterloo special front spoiler. It also has front and rear foglamps but mercifully no other tack.
It is also for sale around £2500 mark.

Lancias that begin with "F" ... and affordable variants beginning with "Z" and "P" ..... and now with added "Y"!

If that's the one I have seen advertised (and I can't imagine that there are any others out there, in Ireland with that front spoiler) it is a late registered series 1.

Well I guess you would know - as you can see I just do a lot of guessing! Though if I had read your footnote thingy I could have made a more informed guess as to which series a 1981 car might be! The only Gamma sedans I ever sat in were Harvey's and this one and I thought this one had a more modern feel and might thus be a later series. The nicest Gamma I ever sat in was Theo's coupe which came to visit us earlier this year.

What about the one that was at Autoitalia spring day at Brooklands? it was quite tidy but not being a Gamma man myself I have no idea if it was a series 1 or 2, it was for sale and I waited to speak to the owner but he sneaked off before I could do so, does anyone have any idea who it belonged to? The metallic light blue one Brian?? That was a series 1 as well.
Most Gamma Berlinas in this country are series 1. The easiest way to tell the difference is ht ebonnet and front grille.
S2 has the later Lancia family style grille, as per Beta3, Delta, Trevi etc, and the central raised rib down the middle of the bonnet is wide - ie the same width as the distance between the headlights.
S1 had a small chrome outlined grille, and a narrower central rib.

Thanks Geoff, That helps a lot, and in future I'm pleased to say I should be able to tell the difference It was indeed the light blue one which I thought was rather nice, although it must be said I'm a sucker for Berlina's, any idea who it belongs to? Brian 8227
