2Litre v 2.5Litres a new argument?

In the Italian market (rest of mainland Europe?)when in production you could have your Gamma with 2litres (tax reasons) or 2.5 litres.
There are many- what appear to be- nice 2 litre examples for sale in Italy and what I want to know is, are there any benefits with the 2 litre cars over their bigger engined siblings?
Do they have similar mechanical issues and are they any more reliable?
Having said that , by now most Gammas will have been resolved of their maladies won't they?

With regard to you later question - yes. Gammas these days are not a troublesome beast to run, and even if they are, there is a really good support group available for both the cars and the owners! aka, The Gamma Consortium.
There have been some nice Gamma Berlinas for sale recently, so I think a Gamma has to be a very good choice for "Clan Greenway"..!
As for thhe driving experience and the reliability issues of the 2 litre Gamma, I too would love to know the answer. So if anyone has experience of the 2ltr Gamma flat four, please fill us in!

It might be the case that the engine may be slightly smoother and quicker to respond because of lower reciprocating masses and displacement??
