Saturday 19th November drove from Evesham to Chester. Next day departed for Monte Carlo via the following Chester, Stone, Newton Burgoland, Market Harborough, Lenham, Dover, Calais, Assevillers, Foret de St. Hobson, Tardenois, Tonerre, Rouvray, Morvan, Beaune, Circuit de Bresse, Arinthod, Oyonnax, Col de Sapenay, Aix les Bains, Col du Granier, Col du Porte, Col de Allimas, Col de la Croix Haute, Col de Grimone, Col de Pennes, Col du Reychasset, Digne les Baines, Col de Corobin, Colde Felines, Col St-Roch Col de Turini, Monte Carlo. Overnight. Departed by autoroute and continue 1,400 km journey home. Total mileage between November 19th/November 27th approx 2,340 miles more than half of which was competitive. We carried all our own spares, snow chains, clothes and, oh yes, dinner suits for the special dinner. Apart from the odd plug cleaning and 2litres of fully synthetic oil plus a gearbox top up the HF pulled like a train from start to finish. No snow but there was ice. Fuel consumption, motorway cruising 28 mpg. In the mountains at flat out speeds that dropped to less than hundred miles to a tank, about nine or ten mpg. Photos of all three Lancias to follow but for wanting more
