Hi all
any one know where I can get hold of workshop tool/fixture 8043110 (as on fig 04/9 of the Flavia shop manual) which is used to compress the front suspension leaf spring so the upper wishbones can be fitted or failing that perhaps the dimensions so I can have one fabricated.

Hi Russell,for my Fulvia's  I made one from two lengths of M10 studding and a couple  of short lengths of box section with nuts to suit.Sufficient for an S2 but an S1 needs a  bracket made from channel or similar to bolt to the shorter cross member.Total cost a fiver at most.One box section is shorter than the other to avoid fouling. richard

I don't know whether you have come across the Flavia Consortium, but if not, I would suggest you consider joining as you can obtain all sorts of information and parts that are being remanufactured. Contact details are in the back of the club magazine. I can lend you a tool to compress the front spring which I made some years ago for my Vignale, the plans for which came in a quarterly news letter.

I have something similar that came with the LMC Tools but I'm a bit reluctant to loan it out as it is slightly bent, and I wondered if it was man enough to do the job safely, bearing in mind the liability complications if it let go while out on loan.
