Last bit of oil in the filter housing

How do you chaps get the last bit of oil that sits in the filter housing out, on early Flavias with the cartridge (Paper) type  filter, without making a mess?

A big syringe- ask at a local vets.....

Phil, that`s great thanks, all these years I`ve just left the dirty last bit in the filter housing, but I`m getting a bit paranoid in my old age.

I have a friend who works for a vets, so I`ll give him a call later.

No problem, just get a big plastic bodied one and stick a bit of rubber pipe on the end.
