Seems I made a mistake as Alan has pointed out that the photos were from Thailand where it seems many Betas are still in use as they were built there.

I've certainly never tried squatting on the OS wing when working on my Beta! At 6' 1" I just can't see me fitting in there.

I remember the days when I used to climb under the bonnet of an F E Victor. There was loads of room and you could sit comfortably on the inner wing.
