Slow but rough

« on: 24 April, 2019, 07:34:09 AM »

Hi all
Anyone fitted a S2/3  dash into a S1 car? my car will have a S2 engine and will be able to have a temperature gauge and more legible instruments if a S2 dash could be introduced. It would mean a bit of re-wiring but can anyone see other issues ?

A problem you may encounter is the second and third series Appias are 60/65 mm wider so a 2/3rd dashboard may not fit in.
The first series instruments just need a good clean if you got the car in bits may be worth sending them off to a specialist to be serviced.
The Appia temperature guage is notoriously inaccurate. If you want a temperature guage may be worth considering  fitting mechanical one with Capilliary pipe which are considered to be very accurate.
Reading the instuments at night can be a problem with an Appia replacing the main battery starter motor lead would help as on my car there was 4 voltage drop on the old cable.

Are there any brighter LED bulbs available to help see the instruments?
