13 inch Cromo on S1

I have tried to fit a set of 13x6 Cromodoras to my S1 Coupe but the rears wont go on. They butt up against the inner handbrake arm, so much so that I do not think I can remove enough metal from the arm and it still function. Did S1 1.6 HF have a different mechanism?

They should clear the arm. It is the caliper housing that is the problem. You can grind away metal without destroying the mechanical integrity of the caliper housing, but it is a lot of metal. I did this for another member and I cannot remember what clearance I achieved but was less than 1mm from memory. There areno clearance issues on Campagnolas which is why I guess they were preferred.

I once fitted 13 inch cromodoras to an S1 fulvia and remember that i managed to find the rear calipers with the metal already removed. So im sure there's no structural problems in removing the metal - just a little hard graft

I am not getting this. The part that the wheel touches is 25 on Tav 42A. Are you saying that metal has to be removed from part no 7?

Jimbo64, thanks for the picture. So yes the arm needs trimming at which point the calliper clearance may become an issue according to others. I have been told that the arms came in three different lengths so there may be the possibility of finding some shorter ones.

That is not a HFS1 Cromadora (CD28??) but a different Cromadora "Stellone" - not comparable
