Other people knew John much better than I did though perhaps not for so long - we met in 1964 around John Maltby.   Since I moved away from London a few years later we met only at occasional meetings but he was always friendly and has given me excellent advice over the years.
I shall leave it there but have started this in the hope that better informed people will join in.    He was a great character and deserves being remembered and celebrated.

Dear Members,
As many of you now know, very sadly our great friend John Millham died recently.

His funeral will be at 2pm on Tuesday 15th August at the South Oxfordshire Crematorium at Garford, OX13 5PA
The Crematorium is between East Hanney and Frilford, on the A 338, clearly signed, on the east side of the road.
Refreshments will be available after the service at Millets Farm Centre at your own cost.
The family will also be meeting there in a private room but due to the unknown number of attendees from the numerous clubs etc. with which John was involved, we thought it better not to overload their event.
Venue details - Millets Farm Centre, Kingston Road, Frilford, OX13 5HB (enquiries@milletsfarmcentre.com & 01865 392 200)
It is a very busy location but there is plenty of parking, we usually use the grass parking on the right as you enter.
The choice of refreshments should be more than adequate, but as we are uncertain of total numbers attending, if you are coming, please let me know by Tuesday 8th so they can prepare the restaurant stock and staff.
If you cannot attend for any reason, the Funeral Directors are intending to film the proceedings.  Please let me know if you would like access details, when available.
Kind regards,
Chris Hopkins
