I've not come across this specifically mentioned ... and usually judge mine ... 'just tight and a tiny bit more' so I don't damage the washer or sump. As long as there's no leak of oil that's tight enough in my book!
Out of interest I've looked at the technical manual and, whilst I can't see the sump plug specifically mentioned, all other bolts relating to the sump are as per the attached. Note this 0.9 is in m-kg. [And for comparison the cylinder head bolts, for example, have a 3.2 m-kg torque figure].

@ Scott
Those are for M6 bolts not M18 or what ever the sump plug is. Best info I have is as you say!
@ Wrangler - recommend you arm your self with the workshop manuals and Technical Data Manual which can be purchased on CD (from www vivalancia.com for example).

Hi Tim - yes quite right and noted. I was more trying to convey that bolts interfacing with the sump should not have some mega torque; gently does it!
Reminds me of a situation (not on my Fulvia btw!) where a bolt had been done up so tightly I actually sheered the spanner I was using trying to loosen it. Ouch!

Dear Wangler, You could always try our own Club Librarian for help with documentation rather than buying from abroad, but maybe I'm biased!
If so, contact me directly on my email please as it is quicker.

Thanks for the replies. I have the manual but trying to read something that looks like it was produced using a well used John Bull printing outfit isn’t easy!
I did find this which I think probably gives me a good idea how much grunt to use. It might be useful for other members as a guide.
