Martini Lancia LC2/84 chassis *0005*
« on: 10 March, 2023, 06:39:17 PM »
This car is to be auctioned by RM Sothebys at this years Centenary event of the Le Mans 24 hours in June.
They are hoping to gather together 100 cars (they didnt), to celebrate this Centenary, that have History at this event, and this car has been chosen because it achieved Pole Position in 1984, with Bob Wollek at the wheel.
Unfortunately, I dont think my pockets are deep enough  ;D

Shouldve posted this sooner. It sold for an eye-watering €2,255,000.00 :o

As the most expensive "visible" sale was the Ferrari 121 LM Spider by Scaglietti at €5,742,500.00 and the Rothmans Porsche 962 sold for even more (amount not disclosed).... Streuth!!

I enjoyed the Haynes book on the 962 recently.  I'd no idea production ran to three figures.
