Floppy wiper.
«

Hi Folks.
I notice that one of my wipers is a bit floppy. With the wipers off the arm can move maybe 30 degrees.
Before I remove the arm and have a look, what are the likely causes of this.
Thanks.

Worn mechanism. Good luck with getting it out!

Its not the winning but taking part! or is it taking apart?

Could you suggest what is worn in the linkage? I've had a look at the diagram and it's not clear to me how it all works or what items wear. I was hoping it would be worn splines under the arm.

It might be splines. (Loose nut on wiper arm?). Otherwise play in mechanism below.

Seems I'm lucky. The nut was a bit loose, took it and the arm off, removed the felt washer.
The splines look worn to me but it all snugged up OK when reassembled.
Let's hope it holds!
