Thema Tick Over

Thema S3 16 Valve Turbo.

The tick over is suddenly doing strange things. It has risen to 1500rpm and then surges rhythmically to 2000rpm and back to 1500. Just as if one is blipping the throttle.

Where should I be looking?

Hi Robin,
Remove the intake hose next to the throttle switch, then give the butterfly valve a  good clean, both sides with carb cleaner, the deposits around the spindle and the valve can cause this problem, I've had it happen on Dedra and Thema, most disconcerting!
