Flavia 2000 Coupe 1970 for sale at Bonhams.
Owner shown as Mr G E Brewer of New Malden Surrey in 2000 Members Register.

Lot No: 502

1970 Lancia Flavia 2000 Coupé
Coachwork by Pininfarina
Registration no. EGU 46J
Chassis no. 820031002997
Engine no. 6801
Footnote:
Launched in 1961, the Flavia saloon maintained Lancia's enviable reputation for advanced and innovative automotive engineering. Designed by Antonio Fessia and inspired by his Cemsa prototype of 1947, the Flavia was Italy's first series-production car to employ front-wheel drive. Carried well forward of the front wheels, the engine was a 1,488cc, overhead-valve, horizontally-opposed four; suspension was independent at the front and by beam axle at the rear, and there were dual-circuit, servo-assisted disc brakes all round. The saloon was joined by a shorter-wheelbase Pininfarina-styled Coupe in 1962, the latter providing the basis for a convertible version by Vignale.
This right-hand drive Flavia Coupé has the more-desirable 1,991cc engine fitted from 1969 until the end of production in 1971. Restored in 1984, the car is being sold following the death of its owner in October 2004 and was last driven (to the MoT station) on 4th June 2005 at 80,133 miles (certificate on file). 'EGU 46J' comes with a substantial folder of history detailing its attendance at various shows and exhibitions between 1994 and 2004 including the Birmingham NEC, Covent Garden Piazza and Goodwood. There are many photographs in the folder together with a detailed list of work carried out; sundry restoration invoices; numerous expired MoT certificates and tax discs for the period 1992-2004; and sundry brochures and magazine articles. The car is offered with a quantity of spare parts, repair shop manual, instruction book, parts book and Swansea V5C. One of only 3,456 produced, it represents a wonderful opportunity to acquire a coachbuilt Italian thoroughbred at relatively modest cost.

Estimate: £3,000 - 5,000

The Coupe's now in Ireland. It's verynice indeed, The new owner has joined our club and is attending the next classic car show with us. We are trying to gather as many Flavia models to put on a display to celebrate the 50th at the Irish Classic and vintage show on the 4th of July. Smiley
