i have been given a set of nylon bushes to fit to the wishbones.could someone tell me how to fit these to my sedan which is currently on high axle stands having just had sill/floor work done as the lower wishbones/bushes are nicely accessible at the moment.i was wondering if a press is required or if the job can be done with things in situ.help with this question appreciated.best regards richard

I think you would need to at least drop the arms and use a vice or some such to press out/in with a lot of silicone spray.

Thinking about it you may need to butcher the old bushes with a hacksaw through them as they will be well stuck I reckon.

arms removed/bushes butchered using the following method:remove innermost pressed on bush 'washers'-easily with drift or chisel.heat bushes with blowlamp.once hot the bushes expand and exit the outermost face of the arm with no further human input![smokey work]then a hacksaw to cut through the remaining bush sleeves which can then be drifted out.i pressed new bushes[those purple ones in thesedan thread] in after checking the inner sleeves fitted the ally suspension uprights and machining the lengthdown slightly.best regards richard

hi Tony, easy enough with time and patience and a warm workplace-as usual stubborn fasteners taking the majority of the time[the hub nut on one side still not moving even when it barely had any apparent strength left.not urgent but i will replace the top bushes sometime which fit in the ally uprights.advice welcome on that task!i have a tool to take the tension off the top wishbone so just need to know how to get the existing bushes out.best regards richard
