I am still looking for a gearbox for my 63 Flavia coupe. Mine whines in 1st and 3rd so I don`t really want one that needs work, just a decent quiet one thanks.

Any help would be good.

Thanks Bob

Why not get it fixed - better than buying an unknown which may well whine in different ways!

I bought an 818-740 box recently where the previous owner said it had a FD noise - stripping it down there was no real wear to the FD! It had been run on low oil level and 1st gear bearing had gone!

Was this not the gearbox that made the same noise in all gears but that you could hear a lot louder/better in first and third because a hole opened up in the gearlever gaiter boot thing when the lever was pushed forward?

Lancias that begin with "F" ... and affordable variants beginning with "Z" and "P" ..... and now with added "Y"!
