Is this actually a Flaminia Touring Convertible disguised as an Aston being pushed over the cliff?

I've watched the video on you tube a few times - and its hard to tell - but I heard that the accidentally blew up the aston and needed a replacement at short notice. Astons not being that common - they made over the next best (Italian) thing....

A couple of Google image searches suggests that DB4 convertibles don't have wheelarch flares, but Flam touring convertibles do.  Pretty strong evidence?

Given the amount of work that would be required to convert the 'face' of a Flaminia to the  DB look, I'm surprised they didn't bother changing the arches too... mind you, if you're about to throw the thing over cliff, how much would you bother...

The quality of work around the grille/bonnet surround doesn't look to clever on the Italian Job 'Aston' either.

Here's the film's real DB4 - no wheelarch flares;



A fan site says that the car was a Flaminia, and that the bonnet opening at the rear, not the front, as the car flies down the mountain is conclusive.  Apparently a firm in Turin did the conversion on a 3C.
