Your 2013 LMC Calendar and A4/A3 Planners ...
« on: 28 November, 2012, 12:39:52 PM »
Hi All,

We're currently integrating the automatic calendar information produced from the Online Database into the LMC website. In the meantime, in order to plan your 2013, there's a quick link available the top of this forum called "LMC Calendar". This points to a cut-down version of this years events and next years events as they appear in the Online Database. This Calendar is refreshed automatically every hour or so - so if the event is entered or amended in the database, it'll find its way out onto this page.

If information in this page is incorrect or there are other things to add in then please feel free to drop me an email and I'll correct it. If the event is "your" event , then you'll able to update it through the online database.

If you want to bookmark this link (for smartphones) then the address is http://www.lanciamconline.co.uk/MobileCalendar.htm

As I said, this is the cut down calendar page, the same information will appear on the main website soon (as it does presently).

Come 2013, all the 2012 events will automatically drop off this listing (although they're retained in the Online Database which can be searched)

Please note (as mentioned in the General Area) , this has now been done and ALL events need to be put into the database in order to appear on the website. This happens automatically - no one (ie: Will) needs to edit the page anymore.

If you'd like me to put the event in on your behalf , please email me - otherwise any events that I spot here on the forum will be entered in and will get published (with website , forum and contact links).

You can see the website event list at http://www.lanciamotorclub.co.uk/calendar.php - once an event has happened , it'll be crossed out.

There is now a new panel "LANCIA NEWS" on www.lanciamotorclub.co.uk that provides the next 5 events coming up. This is updated automatically like the main calendar page.

Thanks Tim, been a while coming but we've managed the integration.

Out of interest, the computer I'm currently using (which is 10 years old) doesn't show any text in the blue panel unless you refresh it manually - whereas the full calendar page appears fine ... if anyone else finds anything odd , I'd like to know (we can only test on a few devices ...)

Also, any other ideas for www content would be welcomed ...

I would add that in the club news it should probably include any new events as they get announced even though they may be time wise a bit down the road so to speak. The following month they are no longer news uless they form part of the up and coming event list. Is this possible??

Tim

BTW my computer is about 15 years old but every three years I take the brave decision and upgrade the mother board and every five years the hard drive so like the shop broom....my blue stays as blue....

Hi Tim,

That's a fair point - at present I record the date the event is and not the date we know about it. I think you're actually correct in that we should record that last five events we were notified about on that page and then on the main calendar page the year's events in order (as now). We could also record if there are any updates too I guess and notify those ... ?

I used to do that with computers too but just us a laptop now and it's generally fine for everything :)

- Does that mean you get the blue square with text or just a blank blue square ?

That's good then :o)

But now we've achieved integration it'll be easy (enough) to publish things out (maybe also from the Forum)

But I do like your suggestion so will implement that before the end of year (as it involves some database changes)
