not exactly as the topic insinuates, got another project where I need to fit a fulvia engine into a rear wheel drive car, anyone know if this has been done before and if so what transmission was used or adaptor plate Huh?

Yes it has, there was one in a track day car at Goodwood a few year ago, with fuel injection too I seem to remember, Paul Leclercq knows more about it I am sure, I will see if I have a photo of it.

The member if he still is lives in Colchester as we had omicron deliveries mixed up and I went to see his project which he had dry sumped - subject of a VL article I seem to remember.

Is that the mid engined sports racer? 

Chugga - do you mean a Fulvia engine in the front and a driven rear axle?

yes david, fulvia engine up front with a conventional live rear axle at the rear, just need a suitable gearbox to match it all together, I have thought about using a transit 5sp box and modify a fulvia bell housing to fit it  Huh? however if its ben done before and works then I may aswell copy rather than re invent j

Next time you'll be using the Fulvia box to push power to a front axle as well as a back axle... 

If this was "Scrap Heap Challenge" lock the diff.

Good luck with it - while I might say "I can't wait" to see what the whole scheme is there's something about keeping things under wraps for the "big reveal" and I do enjoy the anticipation with your projects.

so when I do this conversion it could be a world 1st  Wink I think a ford type 9 box will be order of the day and modify a fulvia bell housing to fit it rather than adaptor plates

unfortunately its in my garage at home  Cry simply haven't the time to work on it at the moment and its at the back of the que, I need to finish my 1600hf 1st as its in no fit state to go into storage (bare metal) and then I want to finish the body off on my aprilia so I can give it to my mum and dad ( my mums wanted one for over 30 yrs!!) , it will get done around customers cars at some point and the sickening thing is its not far off ready for paint however my projects don't pay the bills so have to be least priority, at the moment Im snowed under with customers cars (5 here 1 at my parents and atleast 4 more waiting to come) cant complain and im grateful for the work and shocked at how busy we have gone so quickly , simply arent enough hours in the day and I may have to sell a few projects on as I cant see them getting done !!

The so called classic car boom will be short lived IMHO and so I would concentrate on the paying customers you have and set aside your own projects for when your business is  quieter and consequently you will have the time.
Dont sell your projects as they are the ultimate commodity with shrinking availability.

This is so true. I bought my first classic aged 19. No way would I get insured for it these days. Consequently the old recruiting ground for the classic movement  of men in their twenties has gone. The insurance companies are certainly the villains of the piece in this country. Ironically they are ultimately biting the hand that feeds them

chris I wasn't going to sell them all , between myself and dad we have 18 lancias Shocked  I think maybe a fulvia and an aprilia will go at some point  i cant really decide what to keep and what to sell but come to the conclusion that we don't need all these cars, only thing we know is that we can never have too many augustas and we are both comfortable with having 5 of those  Grin Wink
