Quite a day then Brian !!!!

You have tackled each and every challenge with your usual aplomb and arrived safely at home which is the important thing!! I hope the lock barrel does not prove too challenging, I hate taking doors to bits, I always have a nagging suspicion that the thing will not go back together again properly!!!

Having gone through all that I am glad you enjoyed the day, and particularly the lunch. Congratulations to Fay for another trophy, your hard work and care have paid off again and you get the great pleasure of driving her to boot.

Andy - I can tell how hard you are trying not to come over as jealous of a "Lancia on the road".  10/10 for effort    

Brian - I'm sure your local locksmith will be able to recommend an automotive locksmith and they might have it out in seconds.  If you were able to drive to them I doubt it would be much more than a "cash in the biscuit fund" sort of price.  Even if they couldn't help getting the key out you'd have tracked down someone who could help pin a spare lock to your key or whatever else proves necessary.
