There I was tweaking our new acquisition Prisma Symbol to run from cold (faulty water temp sensor) in the garage with the doors open running up to temperature when I noticed a lot of liquid on the floor. Thought it was a water leak but then discovered it was a petrol leak!
The rubber fuel line coming from the engine bulkhead to the fuel filter (1600 i.e.) had perished in a big way and had decided to let go at that point where it bent round to go past the alternator onto the filter. A fine spray on to the alternator/exhaust down pipe did not ignite......
Replaced with 8mm Cavis Benz blue fuel line as used on Fulvias.....
Maybe all Delta owners should check this area. Our car had only done 35000 miles and was like new under the bonnet.
