Lancia Thema 8.32 UK registration plate E33FAP on sale !!!
« on: 24 January, 2016, 03:33:30 PM »
Dear fellow Lancia owners I found this Thema 8.32 on sale in Reading.Does anybody know that car?

http://www.rtcc.co.uk/used-morgan-proteus-carver/lancia-thema-ferrari-832

According the seller:

''1987 Lancia Thema Ferrari 8.32 LHD.
Finished in metallic charcoal with deep brown leather trim this was an BMW M5 and Lotus Carlton rival in its day.
A very rare car by comparison with only 10 UK supplied Ferrari V8 engined Themas being supplied. This example has had just 2 registered owners, the first being the Lancia importer Lancar LTD, our customer has owned the car since 1993 and the history file contains numerous invoices confirming its detailed maintenance since purchase, up to the current mileage of 133,000 miles.
This interesting, collectable and very useable super saloon is available with its Ferrari V8 engine and luxury specification for only £4,995''

On DVLA site i found out it was first registered on 1988 and is MOTed til April 2016.

Does anybody know the car?Is any one here with a Lancia Thema 8.32?

Thanks for ypur response

I was under the impression that this car has been sold.

This car features in Motor magazine July '88 tested against a BMW M5 (E28), it also is compared against a BMW 635 CSi in the November '88 What Car? magazine. I have copies of both these publications. It probably featured in  others too being the Lancar Demo vehicle.

Despite its relatively high mileage (for a Ferrari engined car), to me it represented fantastic value at £4,995 so no wonder it sold.

There are members of the LMC with 8.32's as although few where sold new in the UK, many more have been imported when prices dropped to a more sensible level.

These cars value wise are all over the place in Europe ranging from sub 10,000 -Euro to 40,000 -Euro plus, some (particularly with low mileage, FSH, leather & ESR) are bound to increase in value in time and should prove to be a sound buy.

You just need very deep pockets if anything goes wrong besides large amounts of readies for a major service :o but that all said I wish I had one.

A friend was considering one and reckoned the Ducati built engine was very well built and reliable. More so than the Ferrari built equivalent. Whatever the running costs it's still an amazing car for the money and probably at the bottom of its' market now. In 10 years time those who hesitated will probably kick themselves. My shin pads are at the ready.
