Hi,

Apologies for probably posting in the wrong place but I'm after some advice. I've just purchased a Delta HF Turbo and I need to get my hands in some antifreeze. I've ordered some Paraflu Blue as I believe that to be the correct one but is there a more locally available alternative that I can get my hands on in the meantime?

Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks

Hi & welcome to the forum  Wink.
I would stick to Paraflu blue antifreeze as it's recommended for all cars pre 2000 (or there about). A good motor factor usually keeps some in stock & even some petrol stations. Hope you're enjoying your HF turbo. Cheers, Rob

Cheers Rob. It's finally arrived from the dealer so I can have a little faith in taking it back out for a spin. Loving the HF Turbo, do you know how many there are left on the road?

Thanks,
John

Hi John,
I just had a look on How many left.com & there are 103 Delta HF turbos that are sorned & 25 on the road, so not many! Brian's right, it's easy to get carried away on a nice bit of open road!

Thanks for the advice guys. Mines a 1.6 HF Turbo Exclusive, summer fun and long term investment. Heading up to Walkers Garage in it tomorrow for a service and a look at their collection!

Hi guys,

I'm after some help - I could do with tracking down some replacement gauges for the Delta, I've tried Ebay without success - do you have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance,

John

Hi John

Is this what you're after?    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Instrumente-Lancia-Delta-HF-Integrale-8V-4WD-HF-Turbo-/152616036171?hash=item23889fe74b:g:PI0AAOSwj0NUfJrP

I have a 1998 Delta 2nd series and source most parts from Germany (eBay.de) without any trouble as only routine servicing items are obtainable in the UK. Some gems can also be found in Italy on Subito.it which the Italians seem to use in preference to eBay. The Netherlands is also a good source of Lancia parts, usually also listed on eBay Germany.

Hope this helps in your search for parts both now and in the future.

Regards

Hi all, re the antifreeze, would Rob and others recommend me to change back to Paraflu blue? My Prisma has the pink stuff in now, presumably Paraflu Up as sold by Walkers. I intend to drain and flush the cooling system and replace some hoses before the winter and was thinking of refilling with original blue a/f. Thanks, Ian

I used Blue in my Prisma Symbol when I mechanically overhaulled it. I run blue in my 1.6GTi.e (same engine) and have covered 20000 miles since as a daily driver in france. I would recommend taking the rad out completely (not a big deal) and back flushing it thoroughly.

Good advice, thanks. Changed the rad on my previous car (Fiat Tipo) so should be able to do as you suggest. Nothing seems obviously wrong with cooling system but I will feel happier once I have overhauled it.
