Glad you enjoyed the book David. Some of it was hard to believe even though true. The wings flapping about on the DH110 that crashed at Farnborough and whole flights of Meteors crashing around the countryside because of the fuel thirst. Nothing seemed to be said. Imagine if 6 Eurofighters crashed in one day in the UK through running out of fuel? As you say, different times.

The Germans lost literally the majority of their Starfighters to accidents.
Test flying HAD to be over land so they wouldn't lose the black box.

Just got in from a 150 mile hot open top thrash back in our Vignale Iniezione after a brilliant AGM meeting!
Many thanks to Jo and Mark for excellent organisation and a lot of hard work behind the scenes.
The venue was superb and met, in our opinion, just about all the needs of our club. Indeed it was proposed to use them again if at all possible...
Also thanks to Paul Baker who secured an engaging and informative after dinner speaker in Ing Paolo Buffardi who stayed on to admire the cars on Sunday and present the concours awards.

I second both the approval of the hotel and thanks for getting Ing Paolo Buffardi along. He was with us for the whole weekend and was unfailingly charming, friendly and enthusiastic. In return club members were able to treat him to a trip in the Hyena and his first ever ride in a Flaminia. In my opinion you can invite him back as a speaker too.
Here are a few pictures (with apologies for the quality. I think the lens on my phone could do with a clean.)

Great day at the AGM smashing place and it was a treat to see three Fulvia series 1 Berlinas together, I can't remember the last time that happened, not a nice journey home down the M1 though. Brian 8227

Thanks to Jo, Mark and all the others who helped to make this the best AGM we have attended. Paolo Buffardi's after dinner speech was especially well received. It was good to see such a large turn out as well. Was this due to having it later than usual? We had a hot journey home but mainly on minor roads largely traffic free, hope yours went as well. Look forward to seeing you all again next year. Eileen & Geoff Johnson

Just to add our thanks to Jo and Mark and everyone else involved making the weekend so enjoyable.
As has been said great venue/setting, very enjoyable dinner with Paolo Buffardi's presentation especially entertaining. Even the Alfa club members on the next table seemed to enjoy it despite Paolo's good natured grumblings about Alfa development budgets!
Always a great chance to catch up with old friends and make several new.
Regards
Steve and Margaret

Thanks for all the kind words. I won't deny it was hard work to make it look so effortless, but the smiles, laughter and camaraderie made it all worthwhile. Of course we didn't do it alone - we must acknowledge Paul Baker in particular for finding Ing. Paolo Buffardi and his fabulous presentation. Just to prove the smiles lasted all weekend, just look at some of the photos from Saturday's driving tour (Anyone who wants a full-sized copy, please email me via nationalrally@lanciamc.co.uk)
