On another thread I got to thinking about pre-77 cars to avoid the London emissions regs.  Looking at 2Cs and SIIs "top left" in Italy a GT popped up which was new to me.  I'd heard of GTEs but not the GT. 

Anyone any experience of them?

Only window shopping, but as an example this is just over the boarder from Piemont in Varese (it is literally twice as far to the "bottom right" of Italy as "top left") and the year we were both born.  What else could she wish for for a late 50th birthday and early 25th anniversary?  (Don't worry, I can write that list for myself..)

The extra ccs and longer legs of a GTE are worth having to cope with modern driving conditions and the brake servo is a benefit but for local driving I would have thought a GT was fine.
I haven't checked the production records but the lack of available GTEs is presumably because less of that model were made and sold than the earlier versions. Also they are more sought after these days in Italy for the reasons above.  And of course the S2 5 speed saloon was on its way.
The 67 GT in the advert looks a fine car in a delightful colour. If only one could find a rhd one like that!

Also meant to say that I am always suspicious when there are no engine bay photos and in the case of this car with a cloth interior, there are no photos of the front seats?
If this was a GTE for sale in Italy I would have said the asking price would be > €1,000  more.

Fulvia Berlina 2C

I find that my 2C is fine with modern traffic - it buzzes along at 70-75 on motorways without any problems

Following from Wikipedia.

Berlina 2C (Tipo 818.100/101): 1964–69. Improved, more powerful Berlina launched late in 1964, with a 71 bhp (53 kW) engine fitted with double twin-choke Solex carburettors. The body-shell also had revised front subframe mountings. Distinguished by an enamelled "2C" badge on the radiator grille and rear "Fulvia 2C" script.

Berlina GT (Tipo 818.200/201/210/211): 1967–68. Introduced at the 1967 Geneva Salon with the 1216 cc (later 1231 cc) engine from the Coupé, producing 80 bhp (60 kW) at 6000 rpm.[4] Distinguished by an enamelled "GT" badge on the radiator grille and rear "Fulvia GT" script.

Berlina GTE (Tipo 818.310/311): 1968–69. Introduced in 1968 with the 1298 cc (818.302) engine from the Coupé Rallye 1.3, for an output of 87 bhp (65 kW) at 6000 rpm. In addition the brakes were uprated with a brake servo.

Just a small point of correction - there was no 2C GT. The 2C was developed and became the GT which then was further developed and became the GTE. And then the Second Series Berlinas came along with a facelift and eventually a 5 speed gearbox on the floor.
Attached is an extract from the excellent 1977 LMC Fulvia Journal showing all the various iterations of the Fulvia Berlinas including those for the Greek market..
The GTE was advertised as a 100 mph car by Lancia England back in the day.
