I am looking to re-chrome this “oval” surround and would welcome some advice / help on how to remove it. I see that there some almost inaccessible screws holding it in place and wonder if the only way is to remove the radiator for simplicity of its removal.
Any help most welcomed, thank you.

It varies a bit on some cars. I've seen the lower screws mounted on a bracket close together at the bottom or also located nearer the edges. Web link below will hopefully help you.

Many thanks for your tips the very interesting link.
I was put off by seeing the screws which held the S/S grille to the chrome oval and wondered how the heck! The screws for the chrome oval connection on my car are: two placed low down and central and accessible from the front and the other two (studs with lock nuts) are, one by the bonnet release and the other by the oil cooler mounting. Thanks to your help it should now be easy.
I suspect that a gasket or rubber (?) moulding which runs along the edge of the chrome is not readily available? Just a thought.
Thanks again.

Yes the grill is taken off complete front the front and disassembled (!) The rubber is just a thin (c3mm) u section available at trimmer who attend major classic cars shows. I hold it in place with a few dabs of super glue while replacing the complete assembly.

This is the trim supplier that comes to mind - but not small enough...
