Richard,
Have you tried Hagerty's,
I have Fay with them, fully comp, 3 named drivers, continental cover, agreed value £8000, 3000 mile limit, cost is £117 a year, if that's any help.
I would have thought the £174 would be about right with 3000 miles, 500 miles I think is unreasonable whoever you're insured with.

Carole Nash/ Zenith Marque. The odd thing is, the letter says last year's policy was £159.76, but it was £139. Also if I don't respond, the policy will automatically renew and money will be collected without my concent. All of this happened a year ago, which I complained about. I was told I was in an 'ongoing agreement'. They agreed during a telephone call last year to remove my bank details from their records and not to try taking unauthorised money from my account. Nothing has changed. So I shall have to make a complaint.

Both threads are from 2011, Adrian Flux and Footman James, are they stiil affiliated to the LMC and offering preferential rates?

Yes, insurance auto renewals are unacceptable and should be banned!

Thanks, does the 'issues' thread suggest problems have occurred? I suppose if I contact my bank, I could put a stop to auto renewals?

Going back some time I had the Fulvia insured with Richardson Hosken fully comp, 3000 miles for about 100 quid. I'd definitely have a quick ring around all the names mentioned. As Brian said, that price would be OK for 3000 miles but even so they sound a bit dubious. When my old Vixen was written off RH paid up full value with no quibbles.

As an aside Hagerty will not insure post 1980 TVRs. I wonder why?

Richard

I find ClassicLine Insurance to be very good.
I have my 2000HF Coupe insured with them - £22k agreed value, garaged East London (high premium area) 3000 miles
Used to cost approx. £110 per annum but had to switch to another insurance company with ClassicLine  to get track day cover which increased the premium to £180 per annum(including UK and Europe breakdown recovery).
Fulvia 2C costs £90.00 per year with 3000 miles  including UK and Europe breakdown recovery.

It's very easy to make changes with ClassicLine e.g. increased annual mileage etc.
Perhaps worth a try?

) Hi Richard sounds pretty reasonable if 1000 miles is adequate for your needs, no point paying for more if you don't need it.
Agreed value is good as well.
