I keep an early Flaminia and managed to pick up a contemporary Lancia Flaminia sales brochure - best £40 spent this year. Of it's time it's very Lancia.
Most manufactures would reserve the front cover for the top of the model range. Not Lancia.
The front cover is light battleship grey. No car is shown. At first glance I thought I was looking at big black gates ? Then realized this was a fifties style
vertical black lines graphic idea. Maybe a street scene leading to cloisters or an approach road through an arched entrance ? No model preference here.
Apart from the golden Lancia badge everything is grey, black or white.
The largest part of the badge folds over to reveal a choice of saloon, PF coupe, Touring of Milan and Zagato designs. On a red background is a
brief summary of the late 50's Flaminia models.
You pick the model required and turn to the appropriate double page. The left page shows a mixture of 50's style coloured drawings and the car's vital statistics.
The right page, depending on model, shows a picture / traced photo of the model. Above that is either a 50's style sketch or abstract style photo or drawing.
The back of the brochure shows side sketches of each model and underneath shows aerial viewed width measurements.
The brochure was created with much thought, precision, artistry and probably a tad over engineered. Can't quite think what that reminds me of ?
If anyone wants me to scan a particular Flaminia model please advise.
