I gather success in the "Pom" depends on taking best advantage of the handicapping rules and some quite unlikely cars can do very well.

A couple of photos taken in Padua while I was there for a day away from Venice......a few years ago.
We stumbled upon this Classic car show , small yes....but had some nice cars.
This Appia is a Vignale Berlina I believe.

The Vignale Appia makes me realise how good Lancia were with their styling. Very few bespoke coachbuilder versions look anything like as nice as the factory cars. I had to look twice to convince myself that the rear view of this car was anything other than a Trabant.  |

First run out after getting the UK registration for my Augusta. Up to the top of Nidderdale and over into Wensleydale to call at Kilgram Bridge, a favorite spot of mine. The bridge was built in about 1145AD by the Cistercian monks of Jervaulx Abbey and survives in remarkable condition. It was built using a stone flagged Roman causeway crossing the river Ure as foundations for the bridge, the structure of which can still be seen below the bridge. https://brigantesnation.com/kilgram-bridge-north-yorkshireOh and by the way the car runs very nicely (a relief as it was bought in Italy with little opportunity to test it). I am jolly pleased, and somewhat surprised by how well it motors - the engine is torquey, the crash gearbox very easy and the steering superb. The brakes are quite amazing for a car of that period. Having recently sold a 20hp Rolls Royce I just need a flying lady to compete the view! Mike |
