There's a Flying Flea at the RAF Museum at Cosford.

Winged wheel; was a small capacity motorcycle by BSA,( Bloody Stopped Again) the engine was in the rear wheel. Unless i am mistaken.

Not being able to afford the LHD Fulvia Series 2 Berlina that was on ebay, & much talked about recently. (Bought by a friend who also has a Fulvia Sport).

My latest touch of insanity has been "Off the Road for 20+ years and was used for instructing mechanical students, is that a + or - feature? until I get it home later this month & start having a close look, I won't know.

Just this last weekend I sold a Rudge autocycle.  If I have the space and inclination again a VeloSolex is the "sensible choice" but would love to seek out a Ducati Cucciolo.  The maddest of all has to be the supercharged Buggati cycle motor...

Oh the luxury of high and low gear and a four stroke engine next to the Rudge which tended to be a bit of a pest to start and required more than a little "light peddle assistance" at low speed.  Maybe I was just too scared to give it its head as it was geared more as a "warp drive" onwards from ordinary cycling speeds to a pace beyond what balloon tyres and its piddley brakes made seem sensible. 

Then again it DID have drum brakes - and the weight was in the right place - so heaven knows what a winged wheel would feel like "rut surfing".

Any cyclemotor is a mad and wonderful thing.

Your right about the winged wheel of course but I'm not inclined to agree about the "Bloody Stopped Again".With a  history of an several M20's with and without sidecar, 2 A7's and gold flash's again with and without sidecar from new in the family, BSA's were the vehicle of choice until the A35 van reared its practical and cheap head.I still have my first D3 bantam lurking in the shed but the issue is one on "not wanting to start" rather being "inclined to stop".

I've always wanted a square 4 but that's another story.

As far as I remember my original one back in the 1970's was a Runabout, but I see on the bill of sale it's described as a Ultramatic Moped.
It's not a wisp, although a friend has offered me one free & gratis, Wisp's are very basic and Skeletal see: http://thebuzzingclub.co.uk/archive/pr01.html

I'll post anything further on this subject on the Thread David has opened and keep this for Sheds.
