No, the needle on the gauge, 90% of the time acts normally. But every now and then goes way past max which it maintains for a short while and then suddenly jumps back to normal max. Every indication that the relief valve is sticking open. I’m just worried about my poor old oil cooler pipes and radiator!

if. It does this when engine is hot then I doubt it is the relief valve as the oil pressure is then determined by cumulative tolerances in Lancia engines. If in doubt put another mechanical pressure gauge in series with the oil pressure pipe.
