I know we're not really meant to post other people's ebay items on here, but it's not everyday that there's a Prisma in reasonable nick.

Item number 170196419778 - someone please rescue it!

What is particularly interesting is that it is an 83 model, very early (just after launch) and a basic 1.5 model, rather than the plusher 1.6's that usually crop up.  It clearly needs a respray, but superficially at least looks sound.  Would make a very distinctive and rare motor.  So who do we know rescues old, obscure and unfashionable Lancias, and has a barn full of them? I think you'll have to narrow the parameters slightly (otherwise half the club would be eligible)

...and lives in Wiltshire?  Smiley

Sadly, I can't overcome the looks to get to like the Prisma. Anyone remember the old booted Novas? I'm thinking the Prisma is a design mistake on the same lines...  Tongue

I nearly bought a 1 year old prisma symbol once, rather liked it actually but it was rather expensive at the time....

but surely only we could be enthusiastic about a car that has no market value whatsoever, arguable looks, and we've even tracked down a rare, less desirable 1500 version with less options that needs a respray..... Grin

I suppose it could be worse, it might be a Trevi I suppose Wink

The Trevi isn't that bad, I think the Bellini interior is a nice bit of 80's style, no matter how impractical, but then I am afflicted with the same madness that's rife on this forum......

Anyway, if you fancy a Trevi, here's one that's for sale for you to drool over, and only 5000 Euros - a bargain!

Case for the defence m'lud.  Rare as hen's teeth, almost guaranteed to be the last one of its type left in this nick in the country because of low values, rot etc. How many pre-86 Deltas are left - when did you last see one?  OK, and Prismas are even less common.  Big boot, space for four inside (try that in a Fulvia Coupe), sharp handling, revvy, willing engine - OK so looks are questionable. Even I chose the Delta because it is a much more resolved shape, but even so, the Prisma is not in the Vauxhall Belmont realms of awfulness.  Moreoever, we have a sound tradition of ugly, boxy saloons in the Lancia world - Flavia first series anyone?  And yet we'd still run one.  I guarantee if this one came up in ten years time we'd be...even more excited.  Honestly...

I've actually just seen an early flavia saloon for sale for 3500 euro..Unsurpassed beauty. My daughter even likes it .
Lee's right about the Trevi's bellini dashboard, it's also ideal for keeping your (lost) marbles in.

Well pleased to see that the Trevi does not have alloy wheels for the 5000 Euros (I wonder if they are negotiable?!). A free anorak for anyone who can tell us whether the Trevi 2000 ie had alloys as standard in Europe.

Disclaimer - offer limited to one anorak and does not include delivery. Anorak may be located in Zimbabwe. Somewhere.

Just taken a look at e-Bay now that I'm home (and can therefore see the site).
The Prisma doesn't look as bad as I'd remembered - what's the reverse of "rose-tinted specs"? Still, unless you have one of those multi-car insurance policies, the cost of buying the car is only a fraction of the ownership. (I still need to persuade my sister to buy a house with loads of parking spaces...)  Smiley
