Can someone please tell this old duffer what I can do to stop loading files which are the right way up before I transfer them, then they flip over after.

Not so much an old duffer question really.
This has been mentioned previously I think. It appears that the phones etc ‘know’ which way round a photo is taken so display correctly on the phone etc. However when transferring to the forum it does not use that info, so just displays what it is in the raw orientation.
The solution is take 4 photos at each 90 degree orientation, upload to the forum and note which comes out correct. Then use that for future posts. An alternative is use your computer to reorientate it before posting.
