13. Pliers. Well we all know what pliers look like but it’s worth pointing out that the correct pliers should have engraved grips on the handles. The photo below here are of Neil’s pliers. The photo of the very bright pliers are from a Lancia Beta tool kit and show those grips more clearly.

14. Jack. The sketch shows a Battaini jack like the one shown below. If I had one of these I would be considering selling it because it is apparently common with some very exotic machinery like a Ferrari Daytona if the parts suppliers ads are to be believed. Neil’s suggestion that that particular style of Jack was replaced for later series of Fulvia by the second one, which is Neil’s own. 15. Feeler gauge or Tappet probe as google translate tells me. I can’t find a photo of a Lancia Feeler gauge and even I’m not nerdy enough to worry about having one. Thanks for everyone’s input. Tom

The large plastic disc on the wheel bolt socket is presumably so you can unscrew the bolts quickly after loosening with the ratchet and when replacing the bolts before tightening.

In any case, difficult to use on the exhaust tappet of cilinder#4. Worth looking for a similar tool which was commonly used on the old Fiat 500, Andrea

The quality changed over the years as well, here are 2 Fulvia 17x19 spanners (nb refs are different) - one is much better quality, better , heavier forging
I have some very nice, wooden handled Facom screwdrivers in my toolkit, they look the part, are very well made and aren't expensive £8-10 each), you could even remove the writing to make them more authentic !!

I would think the obvious difference between the two jacks is how they fit into the jacking point, one looking like it needs a locating slot in order to be secure.

I have a 10mm tappet key which was made by Don Cross for the Appia brigade. Its really useful on Aurelias. And as Simon says, the FACOM screwdrivers are lovely and will surely outlast me! I was lucky enough to have a couple of new Fulvia Coupes (S2 & S3) back in the day and never saw either a set of feelers or a tappet tool in the toll kits. Neither did our GTE or Simons GT have these and both of these cars had their original untouched toolkits. Chris

I have noticed all the tool boxes examples that have been put up here are the ones with the angled/tapered ends, not the square ended box as shown on the parts box page earlier, also attached the parts listing from the 1970 book for reference.

I think these tools are either Flavia or early Series 1 Fulvia, but most of the numbers seem to line up with S2 as well. I was planning to put them on eBay, but let me offer them here first. On eBay I was thinking of offering the set of four for a buy-it-now price of £40 plus £3 p&p, but don’t let that put you off!. The screwdriver is cross-point.

Hi Guys, good to see this topic has generated a good bit of interest. I should have opened this up before buying a heap of 17 x 13 Lancia spanners. As someone already mentioned there are a number of them out there for sale, later to be supplemented by the four I bought in my frenzy. I’ve now picked up a few more actual Fulvia spanners but I don’t know what I already have in the two GTEs and I’ll check that out when I can get home.

It isn’t too bad a price tbh but not necessary for my humble GTEs...still if I had a nice gleaming Fanalone it might be just the thing. Apart from pointing out that it’s not advertised as an actual Lancia part it’s also worth saying that on the list that Neil attached above there are in fact two different parts listed, 8011013, and 8011016. Could they be for different models? Maybe Tim will know if the 1.6 HF had different locking nut size to the other engines. And has had been pointed out by others this part was indeed optional (a richiesta) as was the feeler gauge. So in that respect not having them is completely original for most of us and that will do me.

Neil, the list actually list the two boxes separately, 2186228 for the Berlina (or Berline) which is presumably the square one and 2140448 which is for the Coupe, HF and Sport/Zagato and is presumable version with the angled ends. For my car that has a tool box, it is definitely a square ended one so if no one else does I’ll post a photo of that when I can.
