My 1949 Aprilia berlina is missing its wooden boot floor (over the spare wheel).  Has anybody got a photo of what this particular part should look like?

I made one out of thickish MDF a few years ago - if you still have the starting handle it needs a notch out of the back edge

Good advice on both floor and prop. I had a similar stick but it was always in the way and so I have a 12" (approx) length of L-shaped aluminium strip that just fits in the top gutter so the arm on the lid rests on it and spreads the load such that the nascent hole in the gutter does not enlarge. So if plan to get fuel gauge working comes off, the need to go into the boot will hopefully reduce further.

The rails in Ade's picture seem higher that in Simon's photo. Is this another difference between Series 1 and Series2 ??

Of course it dawned on me later that the Aprilia has two sets of rails.

My S2 only has 1 set of rails

Geoff, the curved cover on the inner wheel arch - is that to cover the André shocks ? Not noticed that before

There is a company in the UK that stocks virtually every part needed for the André shocks if you ever need any bits - but those on your car look great !

My 1939 early Series II also has just one shelf, low down, just on top of the spare. I made a shelf out of 15mm marine ply, as I assumed it would get wet at some point. There was a hinged rod under the boot lid to prop open the lid, but a reinforcing fillet on the gutter, which is rather flimsy, would not go amiss. Good tip on the notch for the starting handle, but removing it would involve removing the shelf in the boot. I've been told it is actually a handle to set the valve timing. My question is - was there ever a rubber gasket on the boot opening? It seems to me that there must have been, or water would run into the boot through the slots for the boot hinge. If there was a rubber seal, did it go all the way around, and what section was it? Peter

Yes, there is a rubber for the boot opening.   Also, I have started my car with the starting handle.
