trim/rubber retainer for door/window aperture- Flaminia GT
« on: 22 February, 2021, 04:28:42 AM »
Hi All,

my uncle is finally restoring his flaminia GT, which he has had in the garage since i was a little boy.

All the metal work has been done (magnificently I must say), and it is ready for painting before final assembly.

He has run into a snag in that his car didn't have the correct rubber mouldings around the door/window openings on the body.

We were lucky enough to have a good look at another flaminia GT yesterday and discovered that his car is missing the stainless trim piece that retains the door rubber onto the body work. This is separate from the stainless piece that is easily visible from the outside (the gutter channel, I suppose you could call it), he has this piece.

He has the correct rubbers now, but needs to find this trim piece, and find how it retains onto the body (so ensure the body has the correct fastening points on it), before it goes off to paint.

Any flaminia GT experts out there who could help identify this part, where he might source one for each side?

or at worst some pictures of it, and how it attaches to the bodywork? If we can't find one he'll have to make the part from scratch.

thanks,

Adam

Ok, so we got a hold of a parts book, the items we need are numbers 25 & 26 in the picture.

From the parts list this is for car 824.00

We need parts for both left and right sides, so parts

2186096
2186097

2186098
2186099

If anyone can help to source, or have any pictures of these, we’d be most appreciative.

I completely missed the numbers 25 & 26 in your second post. I remember having a spare #25, it wasn’t in great shape, but can look for it at the weekend.
No doubt some of the Italian Lancia specialists/breakers may have them, I would try
http://www.classiclancia.com/ - remakes a lot of trim
https://www.oldlanciaspares.com/ - Cavalitto
http://lancia.co.za/- breaks old lancias
But the other problem is shipping to the UK. The another option is to make it using a bead roller, although it would be a lot easier in aluminium than stainless, Maybe go down that route and keep a lookout for some original stainless ones, as these items do come up now and again. It would be a shame to keep the car of the road, just because of this.

Thanks Jay, if you have one we’d be keen at least for some measurements, especially of where the screw fastening points are, in case we have to make it.

We’ve tried classic Lancia and currently trying cavalitto.

I will also email Felix in South Africa.

thanks jay. i think its most likely that these will have to be made up. I'm particularly interested in measurements, incl where the attachment points to the body are.

Here you are, it’s narrower than I remembered, the fixing holes are very even at 86mm, although I guess you can tell this from where the previous ones were screwed on. I added a phone of each end to show were the screw holes started. One comment as expected the return angles were flatter on the curved section. I hope this helps, happy to lend it to you if needed.
