To be honest I've always assumed that it was San Siro but I really don't know so will bow to greater knowledge, I hadn't heard of Rosso Palermo before, interesting!

Is it not rosso palermo? I don’t think it’s Rosso Palermo. That color is a little darker and a little orangey.... I think it’s Rosso San Siro or Rosso or Rosso Corsa (which seems to be frequently called just “Rosso”) I’ve attached some info I found on Rosso colors on Series 1 cars and a pic of a 2nd series Rosso Palermo car (bit tough to really judge as photos aren’t all that reliable for color (darker or light or different photographic color space). Rosso, Palermo and San Siro are all possibilities according to that article I found. But I may well be wrong ! |

Sorry, I hadn't meant to trigger a debate about the names and shades of colours, I appreciate that my car was subject to a bare metal respray before my ownership and so may not be an accurate Lancia/Zagato colour, but am really happy to learn more about the original colours.
I had assumed that it was San Siro, but if it is Rosso Palermo I am equally happy with that, just delighted that it is a beautiful car that I feel privileged to own.

@Andrew : totally agree. Beautiful car whatever the color is called....
@Sliding Pillar : sorry if you were surprised by my posting a picture of a your car. I was simply trying to use it to demonstrate the color "Rosso Palermo"....my apologies...
The link that you included, I believe, is much closer to the correct color.....in other words "Rosso San Siro". I bow down to lancialulu's knowledge of all things Lancia but I don't think he's correct about this color based on what Ive found out.

My car was originally Rosso San Siro as per the label in the glovebox, there is evidence on the inside of the doors of the original lighter orangey red colour as per the competitzione cars. It was resprayed Rosso Palermo in the mid eighties, the colour it retains today- see photo in Drive it day post earlier today.
