Lancia Dedra HF Turbo ie For Sale: A unique opportunity to purchase an increasingly rare Lancia. With just circa 15 Dedra HF Turbos ie designated for the UK Market in the early 1990s, the Dedra HF Turbo ie provided a perfect mix of comfort, power and excitement. I purchased the car in November 1993 as a pre-registered car from Fiat/Lancia Motor Sale in Baker Street Central London. I ran the car for some 10 years or so covering 125,000 miles. Since then the car has been garaged at my home with start ups every couple of weeks, including short runs. Overall the car is in good condition including 4 "as new" alloy wheels, but has recently failed its MOT mainly due to exhaust carbon monoxide limits being exceeded. As a consequence, after owning the car for more than 27 years, I have determined that the car is now best suited to someone who has the technical skills, knowledge and facilities to give the engine an overhaul including changing the timing belt etc. Located in York North Yorkshire I have set the asking price seeking offers in excess of £2900.00 as I feel this is a fair price tag given the rarity of Dedras with the HF Turbo ie Spec. I welcome any questions you may have and will provide additional pics as requested. I can be contact at abkitchman@btinternet.com or mobile on:- 07971 178650. With Best Wishes Andy Kitchman

Good luck with the sale. Are the front seats Recaro and, if so, were they standard on the HF Turbo or an option?

The problem with Dedras and failing the MOT with high carbon monoxide readings, was a common problem, mainly because they were presented for MOT without being thoroughly warmed up first.
I was advise to go for a half an hour thrash in 3rd gear, before presenting to the testing station while still nice and hot.
Never failed to do the trick with the 5 x 2.0lt I owned.

The Twin Cam met it's end when Fiat accepted that it couldn't be pushed any further emissions wise. Perhaps as Brian suggests it may be worth a re-test if the car was tested from cold or hadn't been used much prior to the test?

Thank you Brian & Neil for your comments and advice, I will bear your idea in mind. Yes Franlochv7731, they are Recaro and were the standard seats which came with my Dedra HF Turbo ie.
Kind Regards Andy K

The Dedra HF Turbo replaced the 2000 Turbo SE with the minor facelift the Dedra model received in '93. Recaro seats became standard at the time as one of the complaints by the motoring press was that the original seats were too flat. Other details were more subtle and included different badging and the HF elephant on the front grille ala Delta integrale.
Maybe there were a surcharge of Alcantara seats left from late integrale 16v's and Evo 1's and when the Evo 2 highbacks were introduced Lancia decided to put the earlier seats in the Dedra (although don't recall too many integrale's with blue alcantara interiors other than some special editions!)

Leather was a cost option in place of the Alcantara.
On the last Dedra hf Turbos leather was standard but with a fixed back seat, one of the great advantages of the UK spec Dedra was the folding, locking rear seat.
