My VIIth gearbox is the standard reasonable speed change.    Recently the VIIIth has become lightening fast.   Which is a bit of a problem as it is impossible to go from 2nd to 3rd under about 25mph and poor Freyja finds herself crunching the gears as she never did in the past.    The only difference between the two must be the oil as all other parameters are practically the same and the boxes are a melange of bits anyway.  What do people use in their gearboxes?   Many years ago I gave up 90 grade for lighter, engine oils and I wonder if the VIIIth has somehow got 10/40 in it, or even 5/30?   Anyway, comments welcome.

I have straight 30 Comma Classic in the gear box of the V1 no problems with the change even with a lightened flywheel.
