My Fulvia Sport S2 has has convex glass on the headlamps, last week I bought a load of spares for a Sport from someone and it includes a pair of headlamps but they have concave glass on them. I'm just wondering which are more likely to be original. I'm not too bothered about originality because mine isn't a concours car by any means, but I may as well use the right ones. Currently the main advantage of the concave ones is that the insides are much better than the ones on my car so the lights should be brighter if I fit them!

Convex are original. The concave ones were fitted to amongst other cars the Renault 16.
In period the original convex lamps were expensive to buy, if you could find them. By contrast the concave Renault headlamps were much cheaper.

Thanks, I wondered it that was the case. I'll fit the concave ones for now as they are better than my originals and then get the convex lensed ones re-silvered.

That means you have two sets of hen's teeth.  Guard them well!

I believe Citroen Ami Super 8 sharers the same (or very similar convex) glass. Lamp body is different....

I do have a pair of lights with the same lenses but different fittings on the body. I'll hopefully manage to make a good pair of convex lens lights from what I have with some resilvering of the bodies - fingers crossed for getting the glass off the body successfully!
