Final preparations before paint .....

It is going to be difficult to get this right because the front of the car is quite "distressed", so trying to dumb-down the paint and get the right "feel" between the 2 halves will be a challenge

I had serious thoughts about painting the whole car, but to do that would mean doing it all properly - ie taking screens out, dash apart, doors off, engine out etc etc

Then it would require a major rebuild and I wouldn't use it in the vineyard, which is its "raison d'être" , so let's see what magic Dog can weave

The "inserts" have been painted in an ivory colour, but because of the matting agent it takes longer to dry, so pushed out into the late September sun

Hopefully the green tomorrow and then swap with the Aprilia Cabrio on Thursday so we can be finished this month (October !)

Forgot to say that I have bought the rubbers from Elvezio - obviously you don't need the rear mats and boot so that saves a lot of money !

Racing along, amazing progress!

I see a B20 drying in the sun also (or pushed out because it was in the way). Is that a project you've not told us about :-)

No, the B20 is not mine but belongs to a Europe based friend and we are doing a complete strip/re-upholster/repaint for him

I oversee the projects a little bit and give some technical advice but that's as much "ownership" as I have , unfortunately. You may have spotted a 1st ser Appia and Ardea that are also in the workshop

Yes, they are Dog's "bread & butter" , he does ground up rebuilds to a variety of standards - the grey one was purposely "ratted" for a customer. Virtually brand new but with distressed bodywork

Prices for 2CV's are scary !

I have always believed that Elvesios rubber actually all came from Cicognani? Do you find Elvesio easier to deal with or do they still do a LMC discount?

Re discount, last time I tried they didn't offer one - didn't ask this time !

I find Elvezio very responsive, so tended to use them first

The very lengthy process of masking up the inserts has been done and the camioncino is going into the booth this morning
