Fulvia Coupe 1.3 Rallye S

« on: 09 August, 2022, 09:28:48 AM »

Hi everyone, proud new owner of a Fulvia and I’m in need of a bit of assistance. Where’s the best place to source a replacement front leaf spring for a S1 Fulvia coupe? I have a weak one on LHF giving the car a rather lopsided appearance.

I would also check first that your Fulvia droop is not caused by a kinked front chassis leg like TWO of my cars have due to inept handling of subframe during removal or during repairs to mounting point boxes at front of sills. The loading on the front mounting points would be massive if the other mounting points were left off without adequate support for the subframe carrying the engine and gearbox. On one of my cars I can see the distortion (upwards) in the large horizontal panel over the front wheel in the engine bay while in the other car it is also evident in the line of the outer wing. The damage is quite subtle and I only figured it out after much replacing of front/rear springs and support buffers and deduction made on the basis of repairs done before my ownership. I'm working on a DIY fix...  Angry (My first use of an emoji in the field). There is also the possibility of whole shell distortion whether due to corrosion and/or insufficient bracing/support when cutting away metal to repair it. I have a bit of that in the fleet too....

Lancias that begin with "F" ... and affordable variants beginning with "Z" and "P" ..... and now with added "Y"!

Excellent thank you both - I'll check for distortion too.
