History of Lancia Appia

Can anybody help with where we start with tracing the history of a Lancia Appia S3 Vignale please?

The car is subject to a complete restoration and you may have seen the post in the Appia section where we are thinking about the colour. We happen to like the two shades of grey that were original and will probably go with one of those.
It got us thinking as to the original colour. It is registered as red, but we think it may have been blue.

We don't have any of the original paperwork, but given there were only c.1500 made we were wondering whether the build specs are stored any where. We also wondered whether this would yield any more information to confirm or fill in some of the history we know
