S1 rev counter
«

The rev counter on my 65 Fulvia is not working; today I spent some time on it with the thought of fitting a replacement cable, however, although I can remove the distributor end of the existing one I have been unable to remove the rev counter end - I had thought these just push into the instrument or am I wrong about that?
I had been plannng to remove the dash pad and the wooden fascia panel to access the instruments but have stalled on that because the dash pad refuses to come free and I am concerned I might break it as it seems rather fragile. I have removed some lower parts of the dash and can acces the rev counter cable and unscrew it by hand but it will not come free of the instrument.
Any comments or ideas please?
Thanks

Threaded collar and squared off push in bowden cable both ends?
The cable on the gearbox end was not connecting properley with the output drive when I had a similar s1 Fulvia tacho not working.
If I have a spare tacho in my instrument stock, I can have a check and post a photo.
