HF exhausts
« on: 15 February, 2023, 03:51:26 PM »
Hi.
Just thinking about replacing the exhaust on my HF, and wondering whether to go for a Vere Lancia 'spaghetti' or the Rosso Corsa version:
https://ricambilanciafulvia.it/en/product/impianto-scarico-gr4-fulvia-inox-2/

Or maybe there are other options that I've not found? Anyone have any experience with either of the above?

1969 S1 Fulvia 1.6
1971 Ex-works Fulvia 1.6
1975 Gr4 Stratos HF
1982 Beta Spyder
1982 037 Stradale
1995 Delta Evo 2 Final Edition

Recently passed: 1986 Delta S4
Long since passed: Delta HF Turbo ie, Delta HF Turbo (carb), Delta 1500.

Don’t know much about this company but they seem to have an interesting stock of Fulvia parts and appear to be very professional. I have bought a few odd bits from them with no problems.

Notwithstanding Brexit and customs duties, IMASAF makes and sells the full range of quality exhausts for all versions of Fulvia (and many other historic Lancias). https://www.imasaf.it/en/. Andrea

I believe the Vere exhaust is designed to allow coupling up of the standard Fulvia mid and back box. But I could be wrong. I know of one instance this manifold was too tight on a 1600 passing through the subframe, and beware other solutions that are continuous 4 pipe into 2 as they will not fit with the engine in the subframe in the car. Also the photos of product may be nicer quality than the actual product.
Its not the winning but taking part! or is it taking apart?

Thanks Richard, Andrea and Tim.

The system on the HistoricRacing site does look very similar to the RossoCorsa version - could be from the same manufacturer. The homologation statement is interesting - because I want to do some events in one of the two cars that I need to replace the exhaust on - so I guess it's important to have one that's approved.

I think you're right - the quality doesn't always match the pictures. It's the online-dating situation (no personal experience with that - it's just what I've heard!).

I believe that the manifold and downpipe on my works car can only be removed with the engine out so I guess a similarly awkward one can be fitted at the same time. If anyone fancies giving me a hand doing that in exchange for tea and cake (and reimbursement of fuel) - let me know.

Thanks,
Justin.

I asked Simpson Exhausts about getting something made after seeing the one fitted to Harry Metcalfe's Sport, they said they would need the car there to make an exhaust. Might be worth contacting but probably similar price to the alternatives already mentioned.

I have a pattern Evolution engineering 4 part ported for 1600 that I can reproduce. Obviously not homologated but works well and ties in with existing silencer system.

I could get interested in there were say 5 people wanting them c£1400 in stainless 308

I'm not ready to get one yet because there is a lot to do before that point, but may well be in the future, and could get it early if enough others are interested.
