Presumably someone - well, it must have been at least two people - believed the Mille Miglia story, but the underbidder chickened out. Even a Fiat 1100 with verifiable Mille Miglia history commands a six-figure sum these days.

I would love to have had a look around this car to see what it actually is.
Another small 'anorakish' point is that neither B10 nor B21 engines had a facility for a mechanical rev counter being driven off the distributor drive at the back of the engine. The engine block casting simply does not have this facility so how is the fitted late B20 mechanical rev counter being driven?
And if the car stays in the UK there is another 5% VAT due on top of the auction price plus some lower NOVA & admin costs.
I do hope the buyer had a really close look before bidding.
