I went to get my tracking checked today as the steering wheel has always been annoyingly off center. I was not impressed with the expert tracking center. Firstly, they printed off the data for a Flavia. When I pointed out they were checking a Fulvia their response was that they did not have the data for a Fulvia and the Flavia was the nearest  model they could find! I had the data in the owners book and suggested they use that. When they read it they said they could not use that data as it was shown in mm of toe out and their equipment only worked in degrees.  They had a point. I have always worked with degrees of toe in/out. What  reference(s) are used to use mm. Is it back and front of the wheel measured left to right? If so one must have a pretty accurate measuring devise as I think the quoted range is 1-2 mm.
Anyone else had a similar situation?

It is the difference (in mm) of the distance between the rear of the front road wheel rim and the front of the road wheel.

If your car has not been adjusted fir some long time (i.e. decades) the adjusting mechanism could well give issues (seized up). Also need to determine straight ahead for the steering box as this has its own “straight ahead” and if you adjust the wheels off this position you will have other problems such a sloppy steering straight ahead which if you adjust out will give a bind in the steering box off centre.

What I am trying to say is adjusting the tracking to straighten the steering wheel may cause other issues. With Fulvia you need to do it old school.

It may be better to simply take the steering wheel off and re-position it. Being a Lancia I bet it not just undoing a nut!

24mm socket, don’t undo all the way leave it loose tap the wheel from behind with nut still loose so you don’t lose your front teeth when it comes off.
Recently fitted my Moto Lita wheel.

you have to ask your self why is it off centre……
